Superyachts

The term luxury yacht refers to a very expensive privately owned yacht which is professionally crewed. Also known as a Super Yacht, a luxury yacht may be either a sailing or motor yacht.

Generally speaking, a superyacht can be classed as a sailing or motor vessel that is over 100 foot in length.

Some yachts are used exclusively by their private owners, others are operated all year round as charter businesses, and a large number are privately owned but available for charter part time.

The regulations for a yacht to be 'charterable' are very strict and is also an expensive exercise to get a specific vessel into 'survey' which is why a lot of luxury vessels only stay in the 'private' status.  Therefore charter vessels are required to maintain a level of professionalism and safety levels.

The vessels listed here are professional charter yachts and their sole purpose is to provide a fully crewed charter vessel on a full time basis, of course pending whether another charter party has booked the vessel out.
